I want upgreate my Acer Aspire 5742G (I have 2xDD3\2gb\PC3-10700) and buy new Kingston SODIMM DDR3L-1600 4096MB PC3L-12800 but my laptop not work with this RAM, why?

Solution
1) Did you get two 4GB sticks or no
2) If you didn't did you use 1 2GB and 1 4GB
3) Also what does it do when you try to turn it on? Beeps? Lights? Does it even power on?

1) Yes, I got 2 strips to 4GB, but it did not help.
2) One addition: strips to 2GB with frequency 1330, and strap on a 4GB frequency 1600.
So I did a combination of 1- 2GB (1330) / 1- 4GB (1600), a 1- 4GB (1600), 2 4GB (1600), but it did not help.
3) In all cases the laptop on and have the opportunity to go into the BIOS (6/4/8 GB depending on memory showed that strips were), but when booting the operating system had two reactions:
1 - when 2GB + 4GB standing, then the screensaver windows all hang out and appeared on the screen of colored boxes.
2 - when 4GB + 4GB were just eternal Boot.

Hi Aleksandrion,
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. We apologize for the issue occurring with our memory. Depending on the exact part number you purchased, it may not be compatible with your system. Our currently manufactured memory is not compatible with the Acer Aspire 5742G since it requires low density 4GB memory modules which we no longer manufacture. All compatible memory was discontinued around the beginning of 2014. The discontinued memory module that was compatible is part number KAC-MEMJ/4G. If that is not the exact part number purchased, then it is most likely not compatible considering the symptoms you have described. If you are unsure or would like further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available technician will assist you.

Thank you for being part of the Kingston family.
