purchased a new gaming computer a few weeks ago and when receieved, I hooked up to an old LCD monitor I had using VGA(in monitor) to DVI (back of my GPU) and it was working with no issue.

I was able to find my old 24' Sceptre gaming monitor from a few years back and hooked up to HDMI. First thing I notice is the display was 1920 x 1080 like it should be but it was simply not fitting my screen. So I got a fitting tool and made it fit into my display.

My concern is this display simply does not look normal. I was using a very old monitor that had a worse resolution AND was using VGA to DVI not HDMI and the old one looks MUCH better. The text is very fuzzy and the display simply does not seem normal. I'm not sure whats causing these problems as I have looked up solutions, try'd everything I could, this is my last hope, PLEASE HELP!! I hope there is nothing wrong with the HDMI port on my GPU (ASUS GTX760 2GB-OC)

HDMI can be a bit funny with computer monitors because it is primarily designed for use with consumer electronics and TVs.
The sizing issue is often over scan or under scan. You can adjust the scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel.
Nvidia also typically defaults to RGB but many monitor hdmi inputs require YCbCr. Again, you can select YPbPr or YCbCr in the Nvidia Control Panel and this may help.
Best thing you can do is use DVI or DisplayPort if your monitor supports it.

Hi, thanks for the quick response

I did set it to YCbCr444 and see not difference. I have also configured under and overscan options and scaling and everything is good there.

I doubt it is your graphics card.
As I say, use DVI or DisplayPort if you can.
Check that your cable is ok. Anything over 3m can be sketchy with any of these three digital standards. Quality can be a mixed bag too.
When was the last time you used this monitor? Have you tested it on another machine?

Honestly, there is some sort of settings or option that I'm missing so it will make it work. I tried HDMI to DVI and still the same, so this did not help, it only shows its best when it is VGA to DVI. I also tried different HDMI cable. This monitor was actually in use by my father and I just started using it because the stand came. It was working great on his computer but not mine.

I have NVIDIA Control Panel and under resolution it is Ultra HD, HD, SD resolutions and it gives me a bunch of different ones but all of them still have the blurry text.
However, under it, It just says PC ------ and gives me a bunch of lower resolutions. The highest one if 1440 x 900 and I clicked it and the resolution of course was different but it fixed the blurry text. There must be some sort of option I'm missing so the Ultra HD resolutions will work properly.

Using a DVI to HDMI cable is the same as using a HDMI to HDMI. If you want to use DVI you need to have a DVI input on the monitor and a DVI to DVI cable.
Your resolution should be set bt right clicking on the desktop and clicking "Screen resolution". You shouldn't have to do anything in the Nvidia Control panel for this.

Thanks for clarifying that, I now see they are the same, my problem still persists with the display being generally fuzzy and blurry. The color is absolutely great as I see. Once again, I do believe there is some sort of option im missing for this to configure to normal
Any other solutions?
