PCI E Slot problem . Will 2.0 X16 work on PCI-E x16 ?

I am going to gift my old gpu to my cousin brother on his birthday .
But he has a old MOBO which has PCI-E x16 slot . and my gpu is as i saw on specifications it is a PCI 2.0 x16 bus support so will it work on PCI-E card ?

If someone has tested then tell .

PCI-E graphic cards are backwards compatible, so a PCI-E 2.0 graphics card will work in a PCI-E 1.0 slot. A PCI-E 3.0 graphics card will work in a PCI-E 1.1 slot and so on...

yeah!!! as Wolf sent .... u won't notice any performance degrade too unless u r using a VERY HIGH end GPU
