I just brought a brand new Dell Inspiron 3847. I heard its great for the start of gaming and I compared my specs against some of the recommended or minimum settings that are for some games, and to my surprise I have the power to run all types of games in like a medium level. Except, my Dedicated video memory is very low. Only 64 MB. The minimum most games is like 512 MB.. I only have 4 GB ram, and I've tried changing it through the BIOS, but when i restart the computer and try to enter the bios, not much is there for me to edit. (I press f2 to get to it btw.) I'll list the specs:
Manufacturer: Dell
Model: Inspiron 3847
Processor: Intel Core i5 - 4460 CPU 3.20 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 4 GB
System type: 64 bit opertaing system (windows 7)
Chip type : Intel HD graphics family
DAC type: internal
Adapter string: Intel HD graphics 4600
Bios info: Intel video bios
total available graphics memory: 1696 MB
Dedicated video memory: 64 mb
system video memory: 0 MB
shared system memory: 1632
So, my question is can I set something to get more dedicated video memory? Or is it a matter of getting a better graphics card? I really need help and any advice is so helpful. Thanks.n
