Hello,

I have Fallout New Vegas ultimate edition on Steam,and I've recently started a new Hard Core play through,with 6 mods installed.But sadly,my computers hard drive is failing,and I'm going to be reinstalling Window's 7.

My question is,when I reinstall Window's 7,sign into Steam (Will I need to sign out of my account on my old Hard Drive? Should I just reformat my old drive as well?) And download New Vegas,I know I can get my current play through saves back,but how will I use them with the mods? I know I'll have to reinstall every mod,but will there be issues? Or will I be fine if I have all the mods installed and just load my most recent save?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
Backup your saves first if you wish to continue.
The rest you have down pretty well, You wont need to sign out, just re download the game. Install the mods, and put your saves back into the save folder.

If you have cloud sync enabled and the game supports it, you should theoretically not need to back up your savestates manually, but it would be best if you did so anyway.
To add up to the others, if it plays like other Bethesda titles, some of the mods' information gets saved along with your game savestates. Depending on the mods you used, trying to run the game without them can have different effects, which vary from longer loading times to game crashes; be extra sure of the mods you currently have and make sure you download and reapply them again before playing.

@Vynavill

I indeed have Cloud Syn enabled,and I have very few mods (A few weapon mods and the Electric city mod)

So I can easily write them down and once I get my computer up and running again,and install New Vegas,I'll simply install Nexus Mod Manager and download the mods.And I'll be installing new mods once I get the new HDD (Texture mods and such)
