Hello,

My computer has some bad screen pixelation on startup and only worsens.
It was in the care of my former bro-in-law but it has been given back to me.
It had to be shipped to me becuase I moved away.

I was wondering if the experts out there could give me any pointers on what would cause the pixelation. I realize in the care of my bro in law or the shipment something could have been damaged but oh well...

The computer will load up to windows and will work, just the graphics are really pixelated and resolution is off too.

Thank you for your time.

You could try removing the video card and reinserting it to make sure it's completely seated. Unless there's physical damage to the gpu itself, if you think it may have been caused in shipping due to weight of the video card bouncing around you may have damage to your motherboard as well. If you have another pcie slot, try the card in that one and see if the problem clears up. If so, the weight of the card jostling around over stressed the pcie slot and to fix it would mean a new motherboard.

I had that feeling but didn't want to jump on it.

It wasn't braced or anything when it was shipped, lesson learned there.

I tried this idea. It had the same problem in all PCI slots. I ended up turning the PC on its side and running it like that. Whenever I slightly pushed on the card like it would be hanging right side up, the pixelation would start and the driver would end up crashing and recovering.

I'm back with an update.

After some fiddling around, luckily just the GPU was messed up. This was a nice excuse to buy a new one.
I bought the MSI 970 to replace the old 560ti and I love it so far. No problems whatsoever.

Once again, thanks for the help everyone
