Ok I have a nice question I want to ask you guys as I can't figure it myself.
I am upgrading to r9 280 or gtx970.
Initially would go for the gtx970 as I haven't upgrade for long so I wanted a very strong gpu.As I searched about though, I figure that the r9 280 pretty much plays well what I want to play anyway(planetside2,battlefield4 etc).

So now I am just wondering what is most cost efficient throughout the years?
GEtting the "cheap" card (r9 280) and do the same in the future when I upgrade?
Or get the stingy one (gtx970) and the extra years it lasts for me will be the same.Repeat in the future?

Is it the same thing?Or is one of the approaches most cost efficient?

My rig :
Cpu :i7 920 @2.66 gHz
mobo:Asus p6t(deluxe maybe)
ram: 6gb

Also does this bottleneck any of the cards?(will oc cpu to 3.3)

you don't really need anything fancy, just make sure your case has a decent number of fans and the so does the gpu, just overclock until your card reaches its highest recommended temperature, also i would buy a 280x not a 280 as its closer in performance to the 970 and the 970 had those memory problems.
