Basically, I want to be sure that I'm going to have plenty of room for both the hyper 212 evo and the 290x. Also, am I going to have difficulties regarding cooling the card, especially since it (the card) and the 212 will be so close to each other?

1000w is way overkill here. Get 850w max. Antec, XFX, Seasonic, EVGA (G2,B2)

Yes the cooler and GPU will fit fine. CPU coolers do not interfere with GPUs. They just don't

Thank you for the heads up about the RM series. I just read a few reviews, and it looks like they use lower quality components.

EDIT: I ended up choosing 'XFX ProSeries 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply'. It's only like $20 more.
