Hi everyone, a n00b question upcoming. I want to upgrade my memory and am not sure as to which one my old PC is capable of running.

Ok, here what I have:
- motherboard - Asus P5Q3 which supports DDR3 memory with data transfer rates of 1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz (taken from the Asus website); max size of supported RAM is 16GB
- memory - Patriot Memory 1600LL Series 2x2GB DDR3-1066 SDRAM

And here's what I want:
- Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800)

Can I run it?

On a different note, what is the difference between Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 and CMZ16GX3M2A1600C9? Pricewise, they're pretty much the same.

Oh another thing if you're gonna be replacing ram. If it's dual sticks. Make sure you put it in the right channel or bad things will happen. Specifically blue bad things. Usually theirs numbers by the slots or even more commonly colors. The rule is usually skip a slot so if x represents the ram slot to put it in o would be the ones not to it'd go xoxo and then x1o3x2o4 if theirs for sticks. But at that point it wouldn't really matter the ram positioning, if you're using 4 sticks that is.

Yeah, I'm going to remove the sticks I have now and put the new ones instead using the same 1st and 3rd slots. Can't mess anything up that way.

Those Corsair Vengeance sets mentioned before have the memory form factor of 240-pin DIMM and I hope my mobo supports that.
