Hi! I updated my Dell XPS 15 L502x from the dell website. My screen went blank as soon as I ran installation. Now its not turning on...showing blank screen when turning on and fan is running at its top speed, non of the USB ports are working, only CD rom is waking up when turned on. Please help!!!

you should have consulted with Dell`s tech support center. Usually updating your BIOS is not recommended unless they tell you to do it. Those updated versions are to fix problems with some models (or improve their performance) but its not a mandatory to do.
Does the screen light up to show u anything or it stays black all the time?. As i know if it dont light up at all you can forget about it. Otherwise try to enter bios options and set settings to default

Screen doesnt light up bro and stays blank black all the time...just the fan goes high speed and no harddisk light either....unable to enter BIOS setup :(

My warranty is expired so didn't contact the dell guys yet... what else can be done?

It did it many times during the 4 years since purchased but never happened like this :(

several years ago i was in similar situation. i flashed my bios and it wouldnt boot. what the "tech experts" then said was "if it doesnt show anything at all you can forget about it" but i have the feeling that if you make it boot the old bios version it will be fixed

I think the BIOS (chip) needs to be rewritten... I think the BIOS chip is now blank...the update has erased the bios to rewrite with the latest one but failed to write and stuck (I think so) :(

My local tech guy said that chip shall be rewritten... Let's see what the dell guys say, well I'm now out of warranty. Shall update....Thanks :)
