Ok im a noob in all this OC'ing stuff, im planning to get a new psu and a cooler for my cpu, these are my current specs

i5 4690k stock cooler
amd 7870 XT. soon to upgrade to gtx 970 "hopefully"
8GB Vengeance ram 1600Mhz
Asrock z97 pro3 mobo
Corsair VS450 450Watt PSU

i hope i didnt forget anything, now as i said i want to get a cooler for my cpu and a new PSU, since I've got my computer everything is running stock. had it for almost 3 months now i finally planned on getting into OC'ing the cpu

im not sure how my mobo can do with overclocking with this cpu, so i need some help.

and what is a good PSU and cooler would you suggest for my build ? and can i reach let's say 4.4Ghz with that cpu and mobo with a good psu/cooler?

Thanks in advanced :)!

Solution
The only reason it would not fit is motherboard VRMs being too high for the radiator to clear it. You may have to settle with a push only system (one set of fans) vs. a push pull if this is the case.

The difference between the H80i and the 100i is the size. The H80i has only one fan and would mount on the 120mm on the back of the case and the 100i has two 120mm fans and would mount on the top of the case.

I would go with an 800 Watt 80+ Bronze or better especially if you are planning on over clocking your GPU too. I kinda like EVGA and Seasonic for PSUs because of the build quality and bang for the buck. SR-71 is the king of power supplies. You might want to email him. As for cooler it depends on your budget and what kind of temps are you looking for at 4.4GHz and even then it would depend on what voltages you would need to get to 4.4GHz and that depends on your CPU. I would suggest starting with Air cool first and if you don't like the temps go to liquid all in one like a Corsair H100i or something.

You should have very little problems getting to 4.4GHzon that CPU but again it all depends on the silicon lottery. Good luck.

i've read somewhere that the h100i won't fit but some said it can so im a bit confused. some said the h80i can fit but how does it do compared to the h100i

okay! 1 more thing, how does the h80i perform compared to the h100i? since they are almost the same price. cause it seem that there is very little room for the h100i in my case most likely my rams are going to block the h100i from mounting. thanks for everything!
