Hey guys. I have had my PC for over two years, I have an i7 3770k @3.9GHz and I have never removed the stock cooler or updated the thermal paste (bad I know). But I now believe it is time to add a new cooler and possibly some new thermal paste?

I am currently looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as I've heard it has a great reputation. I am unsure about the thermal paste.

I have never changed the cooler or anything like it before; so there are three things I ask of you:

1) Which CPU cooler would you honestly recommend for my CPU in a reasonable budget range? (£20-£30)

2) Which thermal paste? (if the type honestly matters)

3) And I am sort of a noob to all of this, I have never done anything similar to this before; so is there anyway I could have a brief summary or a link to a useful video showing how to change the cooler AND apply thermal paste? Also I presume the stock cooler is 120mm (I haven't checked yet?) And I have looked at a few videos but none of them show the first part of the process (seemingly removing the motherboard/CPU from the PC?)

Thank you very much! Sorry to ask so much.

I'd recomend getting the latter it's a great after market cooler Hyper 212 Plus

I've heard good things about ic diamond, but artic silver 5 should do just fine plus it's half the price for what maybe a degree of a difference.

You're not gonna find a much better price v performance after market cooler then the Hyper 212 Plus

Thank you for the replies guys. I think I am going to go with the Hyper 212 EVO (regular one) that I said originally. Only two more things now:

-Do you know if the stock fan for the i7 3770k is 120mm?

and

-I am sort of a noob to all of this, I have never done anything similar to this before; so is there anyway I could have a brief summary or a link to a useful video showing how to change the cooler AND apply thermal paste? I have looked at a few videos but none of them show the first part of the process (seemingly removing the motherboard/CPU from the PC?)

Thanks! :)
