virus on my laptop

I have a lenovo thinkpad edge eith windows 7 and it will start up and sign in, but when I sign in, it shiws nothing but black and my cursor. I tried running a scan but it found nothing. Please help! I need this laptop for school!

The best solution for that is to format or installing a copy of Windows over the current copy ( To not lose files ).

Otherwise meanwhile, you have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and open files with it temporarily, also take a screenshot of Task Manager you opened already, because the virus appears on Task Manager. Unless it's corrupted files in Windows. Also try to close Explorer.exe and re-open it (File = Run file = type "explorer.exe" )
