help please?? my screen loads but goes black and only mouse pointer shows whats up with it?

so i logged into my windows 7 asus eee profile (admin) and it said the welcome screen then it just went all black but the mouse pointer shows and thats it and i was wondering if i log into my little brothers account on the same laptop if i can maanage my account with his profile... i need help please?:(

Sounds like Malware, might run a scan for that (malwarebytes has a good free version) and run a virus scan also. Can also boot into Safe Mode and see if you are OK there...my guess though is Malware

That happened to me and here is what I did to fix it.

Log in like normal, and then bring up the tasks manager. End the proccess called, "explorer.exe" then start a new task and type in "explorer.exe"
That should bring up your desktop and all items.
Now, download malware bytes and run a scan. Get the free version. Agree to quarantine the suspected items, then restart your computer and it should work.
