Figure out what the problem is with my 3TB drive:

The Setup:
-Was working perfectly fine, transfering data from 2 750gb drives to 3tb The purpose of the drive: Movie storage.
-Was connected via a USB connector for SATA to USB -- bought off of Newegg: works well but with slightly slower transfer speeds.
-The last time I connected it, Win 7 asked if I wanted to fix the errors on the drive [it asked twice -- I said no twice]

The accident:
-I bumped the USB connector off of the SATA disk while it was transferring, and it disconnected mid-transfer.
-Then I reconnected the drive, and it said that it needed to be formatted to be used [major failure--and the loss of nearly 2TB of data]. I didn't.

-I rebooted in Acronis TrueImage 2014: and it listed the drive as a 750GB drive, but said in the second data window that it contained a 2.8TB partition.
-Acronis did not have the tools to fix the drive

So I'm looking for a utility to rebuild the front end of the drive: the MBR and the index, and it has to be really safe and secure so I don't ruin the data on the drive.

Solution
Hey Tiberiusfury. You could try some of the partition recovery/repair options, offered in this thread here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/286402-32-repairing-partition
But note that whatever you use, there would always be a risk of losing some data (although it's not very likely).
You could also try to recover the data from the drive by accessing it via a Linux Live CD/USB or using data recovery software: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html

I'd also recommend that after you've solved the issue - you test the drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tool and if it doesn't offer one, to test it with a 3rd party HDD specific diagnostic tool, running all the tests, just to be on the safe side.

Hope...
