I recently had a 2011 macbook pro break down on me. I managed to salvage the hard drive and plug it in to my desktop pc with an extra sata cable I had lying around. Disk management recognized the disk but i cannot view any of the contents inside. What should I do now?

Hey there, sam171712!

You'd need to use a third-party utility in order to read a Mac OS HDD on your Windows PC like the one in the link that ThatVietGuy provided. This is because the drive is formatted in HFS+, which is the file system for Mac OS X, while your desktop PC works with NTFS drives.
Your other option is to use a dock station and plug the drive on a Mac computer, where it should get recognized properly and you should be able to access your files without any issues.

Hope this was helpful! Good luck! :)
