Hello guys, I have an asrock 970 extreme3 and fx 8320 , Everything was working fine till I decided to oc the cpu to 4.2ghz(1.3750v) I oc'ed it and the os booted fine , I didn't do any stability test instead I junped right away to the mobomanufacturers's site to download and update the bios , I run a the default gui tool supplied by the manufacturer and it showed a progress bar ( I didn't select any thing nor I chose the bios file , just started the exe) in themiddle of the loading pc frozen and I heared very weird sound , similar to electric shock. I turned it of by un-plugging the power cable . I turned it on again but the monitor didn't display anything, fans spin and everything seems to be fine except there was no display at all. I tried another rams but nothing changed . I tried another GPU but to no avail . I tried another psu and nothing. I tried to run my cpu on my spare motherbt and it worked fine. At this point I can't figure out what to do please share your knowledge.

Hi,

When i said "I tried to run my cpu on my spare motherbt" I guess you mean motherboard. If so then the chances are, the "electric shock" noise was a component shot circuiting. I would suggest that you check the motherboard for any marks that suggest a blown circuit and tell me what you find.

if you cannot do this then your best bet is to replace the motherboard.

Thanks,
Tomas

Hi, sorry for the late reply,

Can you listen for sounds at the CPU because it sounds like the problem is there. If you hear wierd sounds, tell me what they sound like.

Thanks,
Tomas
