Hello,

Past mounth I have been experiencing high ping whenever my sister is on PC. I though she is just downloading, but it turned out to be problem of packet lossing. I managed to find out that even if I try to load video on youtube which she does a lot, I have from 8% to even 40% packet loss. it applies to Facebook or downloading too (though its small 2%). I contacted my provider and he told me to reset my modem because that model I have might be overwhelmed by something (dont remember what he said). However it did not help.

One more thing. My cable to internet from provider which goes to Modem and then router is somehow split. It does not look ok, I know that it is not how it should be however It has been like this over a year and nothing was happening then.

One more thing, what change past 1-2 mouths was creating home network actually

Solution
1) Get a new cable for the modem > Router.

2) packet loss can also be due to an adapter going bad. It will be more apparent when you are doing file transfers (like uploading or watching video). Are you connected via wireless or wired? If wired, then try a new ethernet cable for that too.
