Recently ive run into a problem. i only have 16Gb left on my SSD and 26 on the black. I cleaned off the SSD (deleted about 20gb's of stuff i didnt care about) and things where normal. After about a week everything started to take a long time to load and things are over all slower.. When i click to open chrome it now takes 45+ seconds vs the old instant. Is this my Hard drives or what? I can't think of anything else that would be causing this? Any ideas on how to fix this??

P.S. I'm 100% sure its not a virus of any kind.

So why hasn't it picked up speed once i deleted a decent amount of stuff from there? is there something i have to manually do?

HDD slows down because of fragmentation, not because of how full it is. Even if you are at 90% capacity, but you have defragmented it, the read/write speed should remain good.

SSD only slows down once you are very near capacity like in the 90s percentage-wise because flash is erased by pages for writing, so it you are writing into a page that already contains something it first has to read the page into buffer, then combine data to keep with new data, and then write the page, so an extra read basically. Otherwise file system fragmentation does not affect SSD.

Windows needs at least 20GB free to remain happy. Other wise it will not have enough resources for page file/virtual memory operations. You will have to delete some of your stuff. Also if you are downloading crap, you likely have viruses, that may also be reason for some of your slow down.

Why Solid-State Drives Slow Down As You Fill Them Up
The benchmarks are clear: Solid-state drives slow down as you fill them up. Fill your solid-state drive to near-capacity and its write performance will decrease dramatically. The reason why lies in the way SSDs and NAND Flash storage work.

Filling the drive to capacity is one of the things you should never do with a solid-state drive. A nearly full solid-state drive will have much slower write operations, slowing down your computer.
