is upgrading from 6GB 1600mhz to 8gb 1866mhz worth the money?

i was considering upgrading my laptop RAM to 8gb. but i dont know if the performance increase will be enough to make it worth it.

Currently i have the stock RAM which is 6GB. 1 stick is 4GB kingston 1600mhz and the other is 2GB of samsung 1600mhz.

i was thinking of buying an 8GB kit which is the Crucial Ballistix Sport which runs at 1866mhz.

i know its faster and more memory, but will i notice a change in performance?
i mostly play games like Bioshock Infinite. Leage of Legends and a few others. im not looking to create a beastly gaming pc. just want to boost it a little.

I need to know the price of what you will purchase. You will definitely get the boost you seek, but I can't tell if it will be worth it unless I know the exact price.

Unless you have AMD apu you will not see any difference between 1600mhz and 1866mhz memory.
The games you listed do not even use the 6gb you currently have installed.

So judging from the info you gave, I'd say it's a waste of money.

As said, you'll see little change in performance. The difference is 266 MHz, and that isn't much. Even going from 1600 to 2400 doesn't show dramatic improvement. Also, you need to see if your laptop can even run 1866 RAM. Some are limited to 1600 MHz, but again, even if it were possible, it would't be worth the extra money.
