Hi! I just got the CX750 and I've noticed that it's making a zzzzzz'ing sound on and off but the PSU is so silent I pay no mind to it. I got it last week and tonight while I was playing insurgency, I got BSOD. I went and touched the back of my PSU and it was HOT. Not hot enough to burn my hand but hot enough that I could tell. I've been using an XFX750 for the past month with no crashes at all. Is it overheating because of that zzzz'ing thing? Please help!!!

Replacing a top-quality PSU like XFX with a quite average (and in some cases bad) one like Corsair CX is the reason for your issues. It is not the power rating you have to worry, it is the build quality of the unit itself. And I have seen many CX's fail within a short period after purchase. Replace immediately. Seasonic, XFX, Antec HCG and Corsair RM (up to 650W) series are your best bet here. No need for 750W unless you plan to SLI 2 very powerful graphics cards.

*Bangs head on table* I've been through heck with shipping with everything else already... The reason i made the switch was for quiet. Sure the XFX is great but it's VERY loud and I also record a lot of the time so that doesn't help. If you'd recommend a 750W I would much appreciate it. And yes I am going to crossfire R9 290x's someday so I have the PSU for the future. Thanks!

XFX power supplies are all excellent, and you most certainly just had bad luck with your unit having a faulty fan - they are usually whisper-quiet under normal operation.

Basically, get any of those and you cannot go wrong:

EDIT: The reason I'm suggesting 850W is that you will be using 2x290X, and they are very power-hungry. If you were using 2x nvidia 980 or 970, even 750W would do.
