Decided on a whole host of components including an SSD, R9 280x and 8GB 1600 memory.

But i need recommendations as to which CPU i pick, at the moment the FX-8370e and the i5 4690 are two i'm considering. I've decided on an MSI gaming motherboard (they do both intel and AMD versions) although if you have a mobo recommendation for around the £100 then i'd be glad to here it...thanks!

Here's a quick breakdown

Most of that information does not matter, however, the single core performance is a huge factor when considering a gaming processor. One of the other reasons to really consider the i5 is the motherboards with socket 1150 support PCIE 3.0 which does offer a slight (3-5FPS) advantage over the 8370e. While some games coming out may support the 8 cores of the FX series, due to limitations of DirectX hardely any CPU processing is leveraged from other cores than the first. And while DX12 will improve on this limitation, you still won't be pulling more than 35% of all 4 cores of the i5, since more processing is done via the GPU under DX12.

MSI is a great...

MSI is a great company, some folks have had complaints on their entry level boards, but I have never experienced any.
