This is just me essentially pleading to you guys on what the possible problems that I may be having with my SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 MOBO I got it only a few days ago and I go to turn it on and I am greeted with a long beep followed by 2 short beeping sounds.

Thanks guys!

Hi community,
I have seen that you are all very hopeful and I am asking something that I have seen asked before, in essence I have started a new computer build, I am still somewhat a novice at it.

So here are the specs, if I miss any let me know!

MOBO: ASUS: SABERTOOTH 990FX R 2.0

RAM: HYPER X FURY (2X 4GB STICKS)

PSU: CORSAIR CX750M

CPU: AMD FX 9370 BLACK EDITION

GPU: XFX PCI Express R9 280X

HD: WD 1TB (STANDARD)

So the issue I am having is when I go to turn on the computer all the fans spin up, the green light on the mobo is lit and the red 'mem ok' LED is a solid red colour accompanied by a beep <1 long 2 short> manual only describes as a 'memory issue' or something along those lines. I was wondering what the problems could be, if there is anything I can do to try and fix the issue before I contact asus for a replacement. I have been saving for a while for this build and hate the idea that I get the only faulty one. I have seen this as a prevelant issue and I appolagize for posting again.

I have tried changing ram to corsair vengance (2x4 gb)
I have tried using one stick of ram in different slots.
Holding the memOK button was said to fix the issue but all that does is make the red led flash and the same <1 long beep and 2 short beep> follows as usual.

If there is anything else you need to know please don't hesitate to ask me and I thank you all for taking the time to read another noobs question!

Mate,

If you check your manual, a continues beep followed by two short is a memory fault (RAM)

Start with one slot of ram in DIMM 01 (detailed in the manual), if that dose not work try different ram.

Ones you get it to post work your way up making sure you have the ram in the correct DIMM slots.

Hopefully this helps.
