So this has been posted over and over, but please check this build out and let me know what you guys think. I put this all together through personal preferences being: 16gb RAM, 7200RPM HDD, and a reasonable price. I've seen i5 + SLI 980 builds. The i5 won't bottleneck an R9 290. I don't really know why Bignasty suggested such an expensive motherboard, though.

For gaming you are spending your money wrong. I know you want 16Gb of ram for some reason, but in gaming 8Gb is plentg and that extra 8 isn't worth it over a faster video card. The PSU is overkill getting a smaller one will again allow for a faster video card, and you are also overspending on the case given the budget.
