I just swapped out a bigger hard drive for the smaller one that was in there, and i'm hoping I did it all right. If it shows up under My Computer as "931gb free of 931gb", does that mean its done and ready to go? Probably a dumb question, but I just want to know for sure.
Also, while i'm here I want to ask, where did almost 70gb go? I always thought the missing gigs was because of the OS, but I have a smaller SSD for that.

Solution
You did everything right. If you can use the drive (add files, install programs) then you're good to go.

As for the space difference, the way Windows calculates storage is different from how the HDD manufacturer calculates it - http://www.howtogeek.com/123268/windows-hard-drive-wrong-capacity/
