Hey guys, again working on my build and thought I could use some help. I installed my SSD and installed windows off a USB with no issues what so ever. I got all the drivers from the MoBo Disk and put them on a USB to install to my new PC. Well after installing all the drivers, I rebooted, and my USB ports were no longer working within my OS. When I disable xCHI or whatever in my BIOS , my USB ports work just fine, but I am afraid I'm not getting the full potential of the USB 3.0 ports. I'm thinking it's because I installed Windows 7 when the drivers might be made for windows 8? Idk, what do you guys think?

CPU: i7-4790k @ 4.0 GHz
Cooler: Corsair H100i Water Cooler
Mobo: ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VII
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2133MHz 8GB DDR3 2x4
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
PSU: Corsair AX760
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I downloaded that, and oddly enough its showing telling me "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software."

The same thing happened, I just reinstalled windows, I am about to update all the drivers from the website, and not from the stuff that was on the disk for just in case if anything was designed for 8 that wasn't supposed to work on 7. I am using IE right now and am disgusted by all the clicking noises. lol.

Okay, so I managed to get the USB 3.0 drivers going, after resetting the bios to default (I think I needed to have xHCI or whatever on).. I can't believe I didn't think about that earlier. Now I'm getting a frustrating problem: In device manager I have a unknown device with this hardware ID ACPI\PNP0A0A

I can't figure out what it could be, google was no help, if you have heard or experienced anything like this give me some ideas... I tried installing MEI several times, but I'm not sure whats going on. But I am about to install all my normal software.

Also tried installing the AI Suite.

Yeah, I did, and I just tried to re install it for just in case and I'm still getting the unknown device... But my Computer seems to be functioning fine at least.

I'm in the process of fulling updating my windows, and hopefully that will help. I did notice one of the "option updates" had something to do with MEI - the Management Engine Interface or whatever. So hopefully that'll fix it. Thank you for all of your help though!

I'm still getting the error, but I think I am not really going to worry about it until I update to windows 10 when that comes out. One of my friends from work, in the geek squad(I work at Best Buy), said there might be a driver on the disk that I was unable to transfer to my usb drive, and said maybe I should try an external disk drive and install all my drivers via the disk. Opinions?

So, I just copied my ENTIRE CD to my USB and ran it as it would with the CD (I only copied the Drivers folder last time), and I used the Install all drivers utility, and its fixed, my unknown device is gone! Yay! Thanks for all of your help.
