Not memory that's the issue i was playing with 4gb for ages on my 965 & Intel core i5 4590

sadly it's the Phenom II 4x 965. What settings are you trying?

I remember on my 965, i had to have Mesh quality on low/medium for playable fps

Overclocking the CPU will help a bunch I got mine all the way to 3.9GHZ with a few voltage bumps also the Northbridge is a good thing to overclock also as it helps heaps with gaming that with the Hyper 212 Evo should keep you going a while longer you could even get 10fps more with these settings if you can get 4.0GHZ do it even better they pretty much max out at 4.1GHZ that and another 4GB ram and you should be good to go remember the 4GB is getting used by the OS also that could take nearly 2GB depending on circumstances so more ram is defiantly worth it in you're currant state the CPU is proberly bottlenecking the GPU :-(

If you've never overclocked before i'd read up a little before doing so but with PHenom II BE

all you have to do is increase multiplier in bios basically. but do 1 or 2 increases at a time so stock is x17, try x18, try x19, x20 gives 4ghz which is possibe but with voltage increase, but if you'd rather not increase voltage 3.8-3.9 is possible with very little, that would be 19/19.5 multiplier
