I am planning on getting a second GPU for an SLI setup. I am making the switch to Intel processors so I have to get a new motherboard as well. The one I plan to get has 2 PCI-E slots, one 3.0, and one 2.0. Both are running at x16 but will it make a difference one being 2.0 and one being 3.0. I know when it comes to 2.0 vs. 3.0 the performance loss isn't worth mentioning, but I'm not sure if it makes a difference in SLI.

Edit: I am going for crossfire with 2 AMD radeon R9 270x daul x editions

Usually boards with that configuration will not support sli. The PCIe 3.0 slot will run at 8x, and the 2.0 slot will only run at 4x. SLI needs at least 8x8x to work. Xfire can work in that configuration, but would be held back a bit.

What board were you looking at, and what is your budget for a SLI capable motherboard?

I would like to keep it under $130 but if I have to spend more then I have to spend more. The board I was looking at is here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130779

That's correct. I should have stated what GPU I had in the question. It is crossfire.
