Hello everyone!

My computer has begun shutting down randomly sometimes with no bluescreen and sometimes displaying a bluescreen for about 2-5 seconds. The shut down have been happening mostly when playing the game League of Legends, but it also happened when watching a movie and sitting at the desktop. When my computer has shut down, it shows no display on the monitor when turned back on. I then cut the power off completely and after awhile it display on my screen again.

First I suspected that it was some heat issues with either my graphics card or CPU, but I watched the temperature of them during games, and they only reached a maximum of 60-65 degrees. I then updated the driver of my graphics card, but this did not help. I also cleaned my computer of dust and ran CCleaner, but with no success.

I stress tested both my graphics card and CPU, where my CPU reached a maximum of 65 degrees, but my graphics card however reached 90-95 degrees. My graphics card does not get this warm when playing games. I have Zone Alarm and Malwarebytes, and I ran scans on both programs and they found no infections in my operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit).

My events in the Windows Event Viewer from when the problem started:

I took a picture of one of the bluescreens:

Thanks! I uploaded my Event File from when the problem started. If you would just take a quick look it would be much appreciated!

I checked your events and there are multiple references to a service called: VideoCnv. I googled this and it shows a lot of results referring to this as a Malware infection. You should download/install Malware Bytes Free, and clean your system too.

Use event viewer to try and pinpoint what is causing the BSODS/Crashes. To do this, Press: "Windows Key + R", then type "eventvwr + Return"

This should open up your Windows event viewer.
Navigate to the "Windows logs" tab on the left pane.
Then check under "System" tab.
You can use "filter current log..." on the right-hand-side pane to narrow all the logs down to: "Critical, Warning, and Error" tick boxes, which will only display these in the logs.

Then check through the logs to see what the last error log displays. It may point to a certain file that caused the crash, or give you an error code which you can search from.

Post what you find.

I will get back to you when I can get it to display something on the monitor again. I uploaded a picture of one of the BSODS if that is any help. Thanks for your reply!

I can see from your BSOD screenshot, that it references luafv.sys which is a windows system file for: LUA File Virtualisation Filter Driver. which is used to help Windows detect new hardware on your system. A BSOD with this file would suggest that there is a bad driver on your system for somthing. What was the last piece of hardware you installed or updated?

The latest driver i updated was my graphics card driver and also the latest I installed. However, I installed it a long time ago. Do you want the information from the Windows Event Viewer as uploaded as an Event File or just plain text?
I am having problems getting it to display something on my monitor, but I will keep working on it..

Should'nt need it now.

I think the problem is with one of your last driver updates then. I would use Display Driver Uninstaller to get rid of your previous graphics drivers, then download the most recent or the last ones that worked without BSODs

Bare in mind that things like Flash memory sticks also install drivers, so it could be any driver that you introduce to your system that causes this, but I would try the graphics driver first.

I will try uninstalling my graphics drivers then. Do you know if you can download older NVIDIA drivers from their website or something? I have not used any Flash memory sticks or installed anything else that installs new drivers to my system. Your help is much appreciated!

You can find links to download older Nvidia drivers HERE

Good luck!

Currently scanning with MB. I reinstalled my graphics card driver, but it did not help. I installed a earlier version of the driver, but that did not help. My computer BSOD'ed again.

Bug Check 0x7E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
the error code was:
6: kd> !error 0xc000001d
Error code: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000001d (3221225501) - {EXCEPTION} Illegal Instruction An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.

I would be looking for corrupted driver or malware.
maybe run
cmd.exe as an admin, then
sfc.exe /scannow
make sure that it fixes any corruption found, then reboot and run the command again. Often malware will undo the fix.
