i am facing some problems while deciding which should be better for my msi gtx-960 graphics card with my i5 processor. i am a new pc builder and i want to play games in my pc. I also want to overclock my GPU in the future. so can someone tell me which company's power supply would be best for me? Thank u

Solution
^ as has been stated - it depends on the model.
Discount gigabyte completely - they use just about any OEM.
Thermaltake make some good PSU's as do corsair but a thermaltake low end one is far worse than anything you could buy from corsair.

Both aren't great. Your options vary on budget. For the price of a Corsair CX 600w, this is the much better alternative:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Power Supply: Antec Neo Eco 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($64.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $64.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

More than enough for your needs.

Goku_Nex, take a good look at the list linked by bootcher and select from tier 1,2a, 2b if you are considering overclocking at all. SR71 has suggested two top-of-the-line manufactures and makes of PSU's - ones that last a long time and are very reliable. In the Corsair lineup I would consider Only the TX, HX, and AX models; the lower end models do not use the high end parts as the three I listed. The new RM models have mixed results as far as reliability.

sincreator listed very good name brands: XFX units are made by Seasonic (re. SR71) and the new EVGA G2 and P2 are excellent (Superflower).

can you tell me right way to overclock msi gtx-960 without harming it with msi's own software? Is overclocking gtx 960 harmful and will it shorten it's lifespan?

OCing may or may not shorten the lifespan of the card. As to how to do it with the MSI Afterburner software, they provide information about that with the software, usually in the form of pop-ups when you place your cursor on an item in the display. Enable the Afterburner program and on the display that opens select 'settings' then, at the top, use the arrows on the right to move to 'User Interface.' Select a display you like, and check mark tooltips and hints; it will get you through any overclocking.
