Mobo/CPU/RAM for $250-$400

Mom has a prebuilt computer from 2007 with an AMD Athlon II, very cheap obviously. She only uses Word, Excel and those type of programs. Her mobo is outdated and doesn't have HDMI so I want to buy her a new mobo/cpu/ and better RAM. Anyone want to give me some solutions. I bought her a SSD for her OS, just want it to be faster. Thinking of i3 or maybe i5. Will take AMD or Intel options.
