I think it's capable, looking for advice.

HP 8000 Elite SFF:
Intel® Core™2 Quad-core Processor Q8400... (4M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Seagate SATA3 hard drive (1 Terabyte)
8 Gb (4 x 2 Gb) DDR3-10600 memory (accepts 16 Gb)
Intel GPU (unknown specs)
Windows 7 Professional 64-bits

Solution
The intel iGPU is not certified and not recommended by the Solidworks. http://www.mcad.com/solidworks-topics/solidworks-2013-system-requirements/ And more info you can get from the same link.

Isn't solidworks more dependent on the amount of RAM you have available than the GPU? I think solidworks is saying that the software will work but they won't support issues if the performance is degraded because of a gpu card they don't recommend right?

Because the software is the 3D CAD design software, it depends on cpu, RAM ( either system or GPU ), HDD, also the GPU too. And intel iGPU maybe the worst component in that pc for the CAD software, but yes you can use the regular GPU, and you will get lower performance but I don't know how slow it will be, because I don't use it but from what I know about it.
If the performance is not good and when you call for tech support, they will give you tech support, but I think they will recommend you get the better GPU too.
