I am having bizarre PC issues and I am starting to suspect the motherboard. I have a Gulftown i7 Extreme CPU and 24GB of PC12800 RAM. Is there a motherboard currently available that is backwards compatible with my CPU? I think it is socket LGA 1366. I paid a lot of money for this CPU and I am really strapped for cash so I don't want to have to buy a whole new CPU along with a new motherboard. Are modern motherboards able to take an older i7 like mine?

The only motherboards that take LGA 1366 chips are X58 boards - newer motherboards are NOT backwards compatible with this socket.
