Hey guys I am building a new gaming rig, Not too expensive but not cheap either. I just need to know if all components are compatible and if the power is sufficient. I'm not 100% tech savvy when it comes to PC building or compatible components so that's why I am here. Below is a list of the components. If you could check if all is compatible or if anything needs upgraded I would greatly appreciate it.

8GB (2x4GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Dual Channel Kit

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+ Motherboard

BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower - Black Windowed

Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 285 Dual-X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

AMD (Piledriver) FX-8370 4.00GHz (4.30GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 8-Core Processor

EVGA 500W 80 Plus Power Supply

Thank you in advanced and if I missed anything let me know

Mark

Depends on what your budget is. I would personally prefer a low end i5 like the i5-4430 or 4460 over an AMD FX series if you have a budget over say $800.

I wouldn't get that PSU for FX 8370 and R9 285 . I prefer Intel 4690 + Asrock H97M Pro4 . And perhaps GTX 960 .

R9-280X and R9-285 both outperform the GTX 960 in this class segment, I would stick with those. No reason to get the 960 at this point.

Pay attention to the word perhaps ! I don't like 200-250W cards , whereas another 120W card can do the same job at 1920x1080.

FX-8370 is a waste of money

Probably a decent quality 650w one. You'd be better off getting an 8320 though, they are much cheaper and can be overclocked to the same level as the 8370. Also, with the money you save you could get a cpu cooler and maybe a 280x

It is more expensive, but it uses less power, so you are more likely to be fine with a lower wattage psu. Also, an i5 4690k outperforms an 8370 in pretty much every game (although some are more noticable than others)
