Hi everybody,

I need some help choosing the best motherboard for my needs, here are some hints:
1 - I'm not going to overclock, neither CPU, GPU nor RAM
2 - I'm not going to install > 1600 Mhz RAM.
3 - I'm not going to SLI.
4 - I'm not interested in 'future proof' products (except that it provides more features)
5 - I have high end CPU and GPU (intel i7 4790 + Gigabyte GTX 970 G1) and I want to get maximum performance from them at stock speeds.
6 - I prefer gaming motherboards and/or extra features like good UEFI or good apps/technology
7 - Price is not important.

now I want your opinions on:
1 - What is the most suitable chipset for me? can 'Z' or 'H' chipsets give me more performance or stability than 'B' chipsets although I won't use most of their features?
2 - Does 9 series chipset provide more performance/features than 8 series?
3 - Does Gaming motherboards provide more performance/stability/features than normal ones?

I have some motherboards on mind, for example:

MSI Z97-G43 Gaming
MSI H97-G43 Gaming
MSI B85-G43 Gaming
Asus Z87-A
Asus B85 Pro-Gamer
Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H
Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H

Thanks in advance :)

I would go with any H97 board. In terms of performance in game they will all be exactly the same. 9 series chipset adds nothing you will use but you need it since only 9 series boards support haswell refresh chips without a bios update. No gaming mobos do not, they add overclocking features fan curves stuff like that you probably wont use any of it. H97 is the best for you.

1. If you are not overclocking or using SLI get a H97
2. Never did much comparing.
3. They usually have more feature like better audio and better network chipsets, they tend to use better VRMs for stability.
Have you looked at the Gigabyte G1 sniper H6? or the Asus H97 Pro Gamer?
