I get error 0xC0000005 about 2 seconds after I start installing windows( I actually installing windows 10 preview but I said windows 8 since there is no category for it.) I ran a memory test 1 pass with no errors and I hard drive quick test with WD's official DOS tool. Any ideas?

This is my other hard drive (I have 4 in total) and I have my main OS on another drive and it runs fine so I don;t know what the problem is. I just got this new drive today but it said no error found so I don't know if it is the drive.

Hey there, nimonster!

I'd suggest to run the extended test with Data LifeGuard for DOS, this will give you much more detailed information on the drive's health and SMART status. However, I don't think this error indicates bad HDD, if you have any suspicion you could try the hard drive on another computer.
How do you install Windows 10? I mean what is the media device? I'd suggest maybe burning a disk or using another USB device to install the preview. I'd also suggest taking a look at these couple of threads:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted! :)

I had a bit of a nightmare trying to get windows 8.1 to boot after cloning the partition from the factory installed hdd to a new ssd which I was dual booting with ubuntu linux. Long story, but I ended up giving up and installing a fresh win10 install and received your error 0xC0000005. So I searched the internet and couldnt find anything that helped. Since I had removed all the old Windows 8.1 partitions (little reckless, but I didn't have a lot of important files on this machine), I was really stumped as to what could be different between my machine and a factory fresh one.

And so i checked the UEFI partition. There were 2 files there I didn't recognize from before when trying to move the boot files to the same UEFI / fat32 partition as I use for ubuntu. The files 'bootmgr' and 'BOOTNXT' were a binary and a text file with nothing in it. So it thought maybe it just signaled windows that something was happening between reboots and to be careful. Since I had already wiped my old install I deleted those 2 files and tried installing agian and I got no errors and Win10 installed perfectly.

My only problem now is that I don't know where to get a license key, but I'll call lenovo if i can't figure it out. I think its supposed to keep the license in the UEFI/bios, there is no windows sticker under the battery or anything.
