So basically I have an old optiplex 745 mini tower which I use for entry level gaming (rift, gw2 etc). Through doing my research I have discovered a couple of things, these being:
The mini tower is the only model with an upgradable psu, and it will only support a low profile gpu. My question is simple, will this fit in my desktop http://m.ebuyer.com/546583 and will this fit in my desktop http://m.ebuyer.com/630503. I'm also currently running a core 2 duo e4500 which I plan on upgrading to a q6600 and 4gb ram which I intend on expanding to 8. Thanks in aadvance.

With that new Evga 500W PSU (+12v rail rated at 40A/480W), you can safely run almost any card that is under 200W power. The best card would be the new 145W GTX 970.
But maybe it would be best to first know 1) your budget and 2) the processor you have. No sense wasting money on a card that will be bottlenecked by the CPU.

Yeah, processor is fairly old and anything I put in is going to get bottlenecked. I was going to update it from the e4500 core 2 duo, to one of the supporting core 2 quad processors.

Oh. Well, obviously you wouldn't want to waste money on a card like the GTX 970 then. The GTX 750 Ti would be about the best you'd want to go with. That only requires a 300W PSU, so your old PSU may even work.
The R7-260, 260X, or 265 would be good choices. But the PSU upgrade would be necessary.
Here are some other choices depending on your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20600473873%20600487621%20600486247%20600473874%20600489396%20600498737%20600487565%20600473872%20600487564&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=30
