Hi, so a friend of mine wants to upgrade his motherboard and case for future expansions etc., but we found that most recommended motherboards are like $150 or higher, same with cases, at least $100, so we were wondering if a mobo and case that expensive is really needed?

So this is what his new motherboard and case needs to do:

- fit his i7 4770 (not k)
- fit his GTX 780, with additional room for a second card
- fit his HDD and SSD
- is compatible with SATA 3

Oh, haha, I'd actually already forgotten I posted this question here. He already bought the parts :p
Still, thanks for answering though! The first mobo you mentioned, the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI was the one we chose too. The case... well we went a little more expensive than that: we chose the SilverStone Raven RV03 (http://www.alternate.nl/SilverStone/Raven-RV03B-W-behuizing/html/product/857336?event=search)
