Hi peeps... My main pc connects and disconnects after a couple of seconds... i've got things connected wirelessly which work fine, i've got an android tv box connected which works fine...

I had the Teredo Tunneling code 10 thing but i've uninstalled it and it hasn't come back... i've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for my network drivers and still no joy... tried a different cable... not sure what else i can try... how do i test if my ethernet adapter is fooked??

it's a gigabyte GA 990fxa-ud3 mobo with the realtek adaptors..

I don't have a wireless card in the machine and it wouldn't install the usb adaptor i tried...

That sounds like a driver problem like Scout said. What version of Windows do you have so we can give you better instructions on how to fix this?

there's no ? on anything... says its working... i look up the media disconnected thing and did the following in cmd run as administrator:
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

I then pinged both ways and get varying packet losses...

You should not be getting any packet loss at all. Was this test done through the WiFi or Wired connection? You can try a ping <ip address> -n 25 to send 25 packets and see on average what your packet loss is. Also what is your average time is it usually <1ms?

[Edit]
If it is WiFi you may have to change your wireless channel because you are getting interference from another WiFi. I usually set the channel to 9 or anything other than 1,6 or 12.

it can't be the router/modem... I have 2 phones, a laptop and the mrs computer upstairs that all connect wirelessly perfectly fine... I havean android tv box tht uses ethernet to onnect and is fine... the pc is connected via ether net and doesn'twork... it kind of connects and disconnects immediately... when i pinged with 25 packed from the pc to the laptop i got recieved = 9, lost = 16 (64% loss) approx round trip times min=1ms max=81ms average 22ms... when i ping the pc from the laptop nothing gets sent... yet when i leave steam on it downloads at about 8kb/s

Ya that is a lot of packets to be lost on wired. My next suspect would be to test the wire. Can you hook up one of your devices that you know is good to that wire and do a ping test on them. If it is 0% loss then the problem has to be in your laptop and if not then I would replace the wire. If the problem is in your laptop look at virus as being suspect or a bad NIC. You can test for a bad NIC by connecting a USB Network card to your computer for testing. If it is not the NIC my guess would be a virus.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for delay.. havent been in much

Right set up is

Main PC Connected via ethernet to Asus DSL-N55u

Also have android tv box - Minix x7 mini connected via ethernet - works fine

anything that connects via wifi works fine

i think it's the drivers...i downloaded the latest realtek drivers off their website... i even tried the dianostic tool from their webste but it says everything is ok...

going to try dropping down to half duplex 10mps as that seems to be a fix i've seen elsewhere... tho if it works it's probabbly dead hardware... waaaaaah.... :'(

was being a bit special and thinking "oh it works fine in linux so it must be ok" but I then realise it'll just be setting it to working so probs is 10mps half duplex... which is the only way it works...

I've bought another PC so this one will be relegated to under the TV for a games box... i'll try to get a wifi stick working on it and that'll do... it'll probs go on 2/3 times a week...

cheers for all the help guys...

and to think i used to do IT support!!! LOL!! i suppose xp was new then... oh well..
