Hey Guys. I got my Laptop almost a year ago and I just noticed that whenever I open up Task Manager, it says that my programs are 32-bit. I checked the Computer Information under Control Panel and it says that my version of Windows 8 is 64-bit. Why is it running 32-bit versions on my 64-bit Windows 8? My Laptop isn't even old. I got it in 2014. Is this normal? Can it damage my CPU or any other components because I take good care of my Laptop and I don't want some stupid problem ruining it. Is there any way to fix this if it's not normal? Thanks!

So you're saying a billion dollar company such as Google Chrome doesn't have a 64-bit of the Browser?

The reason it's in its infancy is that most OS are still 32 bit. 64 bit OS will run 32 bit programs, but 32 bit OS can't run 64 bit programs. So writing a 64 bit program excludes half the windows install base. No software developer wants to do that. So most software is still 32 bit for that reason. It will change over time.
