Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to thank you for your time answering these questions.

I play League of Legends (only) as far as the rest of my computer time goes its scrolling through facebook and streaming movies / show.

I have a budget between $500-$750 with a little bit of room in there as I am giving plasma to increase this budget this is going to be for full build from case to operating system.

This is my "DAY 0" into the tech world so any and all help is welcomed.

My end goal is just to be able to multitask on my computer and not have a noticeable effect on the current game I'm running.

Current Situation: Store bought Toshiba Satellite Laptop (stock), bent power input (that needs to be tweaked to stay on), Dead battery ( if it comes unplugged then it turns off ), it constantly does a bluescreen 0x00000000124..........basically im fed up with it and looking for improvements plz help!

Simple Answer is Intel, without a doubt. However, in certain price ranges AMD can not be beat for performance per dollar. In a computer of that price you might be going AMD.

CPU's are not what dictate graphics right now. A decent cpu from either vendor won't bottleneck most of the graphics cards out so far.

I was trying to fix a toshiba satellite laptop a while ago with similar problems, turns out it should have been recalled because they got too hot and the solder would flow away from some capacitors on the board.

Do you want to buy another laptop or are you switching to a desktop? A laptop generally doesn't give you the customization, but if you require the portability then there really is no other option.

A great place to start if switching up to a desktop would be over at the System builder marathon machines, just to get an idea of what kind of gear you should be looking for in a machine around that budget:

Edit: Also, generally Intel for a general purpose gaming machine. There are a few situations where AMD might make sense, but most of those are work situations where the AMD does well and you also happened to want to game... but most of the time it's Intel, even if it's only for the upgrade path.

Search that very specific title into Tom's hardware search engine or even Google - that would be the most extensive and informative comment possible to give to this thread. You will find hundreds of other forum threads which ask the exact same question and have many different answers.
