Hi,

Recently, I have noticed that the CPU usage is high when Task Manager isn't open. I have checked some other forum pages, including the one about igfxupdate.exe but they didn't work.

Here are some photos showing the problem. Album: http://imgur.com/a/BkUIT

Sometimes the CPU usage goes up to 60%

Even when Task Manager is minimized, it goes back up.

It says that Task Manager is using up the CPU but after a second or so, the CPU usage goes down to 0%-4%

I have scanned with Malwarebytes and Bitdefender (Free Version) but they have both shown no viruses.

Even in Safe Mode, it still happens.

I did have a problem like this about a month ago but with COM Surrogate which was fixed with a Clean Install, but I don't want to do that again unless necessary.

Thanks!

Solution
it's a 4790K (says it right in the HWMonitor shot), not exactly low end. he is right tho, it's just task manager getting it's head together. i just tried it, and mine showed the exact same usage. i also have afterburner running, and shows the usage is the around the same with a spike when i open task manager. you're good :D

Ha, I didn't check his HWMon slide, after looking at the two Task manager slides, I checked mine on a i5-3750, found the same, but with significantly less CPU and based my conclusion off that.

You also get in the 40% spike for Task Manager? Wow. I get around 2%. I guess those tech courses I took paid off. :)
