Hi!
Wich is better for gaming?
vga: R9 280, Ram: 8gb
Future upgrade: no, the next update will be ddr4.
(sorry for my english :D )

I should have noted that the processor socket is different for the two processors that you listed. I assumed that you know that, but that is possibly not the case. All of them are 4 core, 4 thread processors.

CPU __ Frequency __ CPU Socket
I5-3550 __ 3.3 GHz __LGA 1155
----------------------------------------------
I5-4440 ___3.1 GHz __ LGA 1150

i5-4590 __ 3.3 GHz __ LGA 1150

Keep in mind they use different motherboards, and I would pick the newer cpu if you are building a new system. First of all newer means a 5 to 10% performance boost over older generation, so the worst case is that the 4440 will be at the same speed of the 3550. I'd also probably pay a few extra dollars and get an even better cpu, seriously what is the difference between this i5 and the best i5 out there? 40$?

Also there are motherboards that can run fourth and fifth gen, so if you go down that road you can change your cpu in 2 years to something very powerful.
