Solution Someone Somewhere Feb 14, 2015 Any RT version of windows only runs on ARM CPUs. Non-RT versions only run on versions with x86 CPUs. As such, you cannot switch between RT and non-RT. My guess is you're being asked to upgrade from non-RT 8 to non-RT 8.1, and yes, that's a good idea.
