Im using a 500GB HHD and I just purchased a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD. My HHD currently has windows 7 on it. I dont want to use samsungs migrate program which transfers everything to my new SSD, I only want the OS on the new SSD while keeping everything else currenlty on the HHD to stay on the HHD. Is it possible to set it up so that only the OS (Windows 7) is transfered to the SSD, or do I reinstall it?

Solution
Yes, the drivers need to be updated.

On a side note, you can have multiple OS on a single system. For instance you could also run Linux on a Windows system (not at the same time).

If I reinstall windows 7 on the SSD, what about the HHD? Will it cause problems to have 2 windows OS, one on the HHD and the other on the SSD? What about drivers, applications, etc.? If I reinstall the OS on the SSD and boot up, will my drivers for my other copenants, settings, and applications be as it was?

No, it won't be 'as it was'.
The new install on the SSD is a new install. It knows nothing about whatever was installed on the other drives.
