AHCI depended applications not working under RAID

Hello, just few things to clerify for myself. In my understanding for years I tiught that if you are under RAID mode it's like being in AHCI plus have ability to create arrays but in general they are identical in performance and specs. Not so fast I guess. IF you're installed windows under RAID with just single drive and then in BIOS switched to AHCI Windows will not boot, but that's not why I am writing this post. By mistake I installed Windows using old RAID settings in BIOS (I had RAID0 array before with 2 ssd's) and now because it's installed under RAID and not AHCI program designed for my SSD (Samsung Magician) telling me that because system is not in AHCI mode I can't use a lot of features. I guess my thinking that RAID is AHCI+Array ability is wrong, RAID don't have AHCI it's something else, but it could be 100% same in terms of performance but programs that depend on AHCI wot work in RAID as I see.

Anyhow only way I have is put system in AHCI mode and re-install Windows or I can do something else ?

Sorry I was out for little while. Actually I've seen this since my X58 build. So I guess in Windows 7 and 8/8.1 I've been seeing this. Like back in a day I remember OCZ Tools wasn't working in RAID mode yet worked in AHCI. And in general I notice more and more tools that require AHCI mode don't play well with drives in RAID mode even if it's a single drive without array. I mean on Samsung Magician I see Deactivated (IDE or RAID) basically it's telling me AHCI is not working because my drive is in RAID mode.

Another thing in my understanding there is no "painless" way to get my windows installation to work under AHCI, I have to turn RAID off and AHCI on and re install Windows otherwise if I just put AHCI on I'll have nice BSOD in my face.

And another thing because I NEED my intel raid controller to stay RAID (Because I have my all programs on another RAID0 array) I am forced to use secondary SATA controller ASmedia that happen to have control SATA Express Port or regular SATA 6GB port. So how is this ASmedia controller compare to Intel one in terms of performance, I am using 850 pro and don't want to have any issues with "bad" controller.

UPDATE: I tried to just move cables from Intel Ports that configured as RAID to ASmedia that5 AHCI only and guess what. Windows booted without problem ( I really thought it wont because I think I tried that before on older X58 system and W7 gave me BSOD I had to re install Windows in AHCI vs being in RAID with single drive). Anyhow Magician is not working properly and I can activate RAPID mode, Question still valid about ASmedia controller vs Intel one is it about the same speed wise because obviously it's not as good because there is no RAID mode in it but again it's a feature but how about speed in single drive mode.

AHCI good to go.
