Hello,

I made a brand new build and installed windows 7. Everything worked perfect in about 2 hours and suddenly the screen was black. I contacted the seller and they send me a new motherboard + CPU after sending the things to them a couple of times. They updated the bios on the new board in the meantime.

Then I placed the new MB and CPU in the build and turned it on, it will not boot up. I can see both my SSD and HDD in bios under SATA information, but can't choose them as a boot option. The Boot Device LED is also lighting up on the motherboard.
I have tried to change SATA cables and slots, but it doesn't work. Still won't boot up. When I turn it on, it searches and then opens BIOS.

Hope someone can help me getting the system boot up from my harddrive.

Motherboard: Asus z97 Pro Wifi
CPU: Intel 4790K
SSD: Samsung EVO 840 (120 GB) (Windows already installed on it, but it shouldn't have any influence)

BIOS version: 2012 x64

I just got a new ASUS board too (Mark S), and had the same issue and it also drove me nuts.

You need to go into your BIOS, and then go to Advanced Options. From there you'll to to the "Boot" menu. Scroll down a little bit and you'll see "Boot Options" 1 and 2. There you should be able to select your drives.
