My computer randomly freezes out of nowhere. When it freezes, you can't do anything, no task manager, no nothing. The hdd light also turns off completely. Every time it happens I have to hold the power button to turn it off and then turn it on, this gets really annoying. I have found that it happens sometimes when I am starting it and there is just a black screen and the hdd light goes off, so I have to restart it. Another place that it happens a lot is when I click troubleshoot my problems for network, in which it freezes when it is resetting the network adapter. Please help me with this. All I can think of is that it could be the hard drive.
Thanks

Hi there lightning247365,

As you suspect that the HDD is causing the issue, I would advise you to attach it to a different SATA port. Also, you need to check the cables(SATA and power one), or replace them.
If the issue persists, you can test the HDD with a brand specific testing tool. The results will provide HDD's overall health status.

Hope this will help,
