M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (Cant unrar BIOS update)

I recently updated from windows 7 to windows 8.1 and i want to update my bios, but.... I cant. The problem is when i want to unrar this message apears:

All other rar files work perfectly, only BIOS update files are the problem.

Any solutions?

The file extension is CAP. I don't think you are supposed to unarchive it. Just cause your archiving program thinks it is an archive it doesn't mean it is.
You just have to use some BIOS flash utility.

What utility are you using. I recommend using a flash drive and the utility that can started from the BIOS itself. I am sure ASUS offer a software for automatically downloading and updating the right BIOS. In my opinion the UEFI utility seems the safer option but you must place the right file on flash drive.

Im updating trought BIOS Flash utility from bios and im using flash drive. Never before i had this problem, this is the same way i did all my previous updates and now its not working.

Did you do something with your flash drive. Try to format it or try using another one.

i have tried to format it to NTFS and FAT32 nothing helped. It can be seen in BIOS but i cant open it, it says its not EFI file.

The EZ Flash utility only supports FAT or FAT32. Make sure the drive has only one partition and you could try renaming the file. Maybe the name is too long.

The utility does check if the file contains a correct BIOS for your board. As I understand it does not even list any files on your drive. Does it display any errors?

When i enter bios update utility, it does show me the file and i can click on it to open, but i cant run it. It just says the file is not EFI file or something like that. I see that is .CAP file and everything but cant run it.
