Hello all, I visit this site frequently, but this is my first post here. As I stated in the title, I need suggestions for a Full/Ultra Tower case that will provide ample space for custom water cooling hardware. I'm using a Cooler Master HAF-X with my current build, but I just can't see where I would mount my pumps/reservoirs once I convert to water cooling. Not to mention the fact that my new MoBo, PSU and RAM are all physically larger than the hardware I'm currently using.
So, I'm looking for a large case. I've done some research and looked at pictures, but they can only help my decision so much. I'm looking for someone with some personal experience with a certain case and possibly running a similar setup.
I saw a couple of cases during my "research" that had the entire bottom of the case partitioned to make room for water cooling hardware and I really like the idea behind these. I know Caselabs makes some great cases for water cooled setups, but from what I've seen, their prices ($700) are a bit out of my range.
Approximate Purchase Date: A.S.A.P.
Budget Range: $400 maximum
System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3d modelling, Video editing/rendering, Gaming, General tasks.
Parts to Upgrade: Items I've already purchased:
CPU - Intel i7-5820K (socket 2011-v3)
MOBO - ASUS X99 ROG Rampage V Extreme
RAM - 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 (2666Mhz)
PSU - EVGA Supernova 1200W
GPU - EVGA GTX 980 SC (ACX 2.0)
Monitor - ASUS ROG PG278Q 1440p 120hz w/G-Sync 27"
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, but I'm open to others.
Parts Preferences: I'm open to suggestion, but I've had no problems with Cooler Master, NZXT, or Corsair in past builds.
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: Yes, SLI x2 GTX 980s
Your Monitor Resolution: 2560x1440
Additional Comments: I would prefer a full/partial side window, though I could add one myself if necessary. I want plenty of room storage. I'd prefer about four 5.25" drive bays. It needs to be able to fit an Extended-ATX motherboard.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Because my current rig is starting to struggle and I have the money to upgrade. I'm somewhat of an enthusiast, there's no such thing as overkill.
If more info is needed just say so. I hope I did this right and am not breaking any forum rules, if so I'm sorry and feel free to lock this thread.
Thanks in advance! Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
